Dandong (SLT) Garment Industry Company Limited (DD SLT), Luen Thai Holdings Ltd.’s facility in Liaoning Province, northern China, received the Outstanding Enterprise of the Year 2011 for Export Award from the People's Government of Donggang in January 2012. The award honors companies with high volume of exports and great contribution to the local economy development. In addition, it encourages companies to actively expand their exports.
Dandong SLT, which was established in 2008, produces knit and woven shirts and outerwear for both Luen Thai’s international and Chinese customers.
Moreover, the company recently obtained a China Customs A rating from Dalian Customs of the People’s Republic of China on December 29, 2011. An A rating is given to companies with high value imports and exports (larger than 500 thousand US dollars annually), low error rate of declarations (less than 3%) and other conditions. The Dandong facility received an A rating classification primarily due to corporate compliance and much larger export volumes than previous years.
In China, Customs A rating companies enjoy 11 standard privileges such as, territory declaration and port approval, the priority of declaration, auditing, approval and arrangement of going through urgent Customs at non-working time or on holidays and some other general facilities, compared B rating applicable to regular managing measures and C, D ratings applicable to strict supervision.
With Dandong SLT’s Customs A rating, it is able to provide faster response time, allowing it to become a more competitive and flexible partner for apparel customers both in and outside China.
