Targus customers praise Desk Top Philippines; conducts audit

Targus senior executives praised Desk Top Philippines for its well-run operations in Bataan after their first visit on February 21. Subsequently, the company conducted their audit of the facility on March 15 and 16.  

Simon Foster, managing director of Global Supply Group and Henry Siu, director of sourcing & product development at Targus Global Sourcing Group, were received by Desk Top executives and senior management members including Jason Tan, senior vice president of Desk Top; Alan Liu, vice president of Desk Top China; Rico Chan, vice president for Merchandising of Desk Top China; Johnson Tam, general manager of Desk Top Philippines and Cathie Dy, operations director of Desk Top Philippines.  

The Desk Top team gave the visiting customers an orientation of the Luen Thai group operations in the Philippines and discussed Desk Top’s capacity ramp up plan. The two groups also toured the facility.  

“I am very glad that we are able to see you are making very good progress in ramping up Desk Top Philippines. Our comments are all very positive . I think you got a really great team in Philippines and they have done a very good job there so far . I hope they will keep up with their good work!” said Mr. Siu.  

Mr. Foster, on the other hand, added “I am a committed advocate for your operation. I’m sure that with our teams working together, we can make this a success, we just need to focus on the details and make sure that we are thorough in our preparation.”  

March 15 & 16 Audit

After the successful visit, Targus arranged to audit the Philippine facility on March 15 and 16. The inspection involved a quality audit and social compliance audit. The audits were conducted by Brian Lo and Lorely Hay, respectively. These audits were held to ensure that Desk Top Philippines is fully aligned with  Targus’ requirements.
