Charitable Activities Held by Luen ThaiContinuous activities that focus on the company's commitment to charity were held throughout April and May 2010. Support for Handicapped People in Sichuan Luen Thai Holdings Limited has sponsored a film showing for the benefit of people with disabilities and educational purposes. The movie, entitled "The Invisible Wings," was shown at the Po Leung Kuk Camoes Tan Siu Lin (PLKCTSL) Primary School in Hong Kong last April 22, 2010. The film features the inspirational story of a teenage girl who became a national champion in swimming despite losing both arms in an accident. ECO Foundation, a non profit organization based in Hong Kong, leads the film showing and fundraising activities to help physically challenged people in Sichuan, China. Attending on behalf of the company was Rozina Wong, vice president of corporate services and development. Yushu Earthquake Fundraising Drive Luen Thai Dongguan Supply Chain City (DGSCC) management and employees organized a fundraising drive to help victims of the Yushu earthquake in China. The cash donation worth around RMB60,000 (USD8,700) was turned over to the Red Cross Society of China last May 13, 2010. The earthquake struck Yushu, Qinghai Province in northwestern part of China last April 14, 2010. With a magnitude of 7.1, the earthquake resulted in over 2,000 deaths and hundreds of thousands of people affected, according to China news reports. Computer Donation Further on DGSCC's support to Luen Thai's overall charity program "iServe.iGive back," some 45 computers were donated to a local school in order to help its students gain access and benefit from the use of technology in order to advance their learning skills and knowledge. The recipient was Qing Ying School, a non-government funded school where majority of the students are children of rural migrant workers based in Fenggang Town, the community in which DGSCC operates. As a token of their gratitude, the school named its computer room after Luen Thai. A turnover ceremony was held last May 26, 2010. DGSCC management led by Sonny Lee, director, attended the event and gave a speech on Luen Thai's commitment to help the community through its "iServe.iGive back" program. Also present were other DGSCC members including senior managers Iris Chong, Vilma Rufon, Melody Yang, and manager Jenny Lao. DGSCC partnered with Ai Xin Gong She, a local volunteer service organization officially recognized by the Dongguan Government, in the computer donation program.
