Environmental Celebrations in CTSI and Luen Thai Philippines

2010 Earth Day and World Environment Day celebrations were held by Luen Thai Philippines and CTSI Logistics last April and June, respectively.

Zero Plastics Day at CTSI Logistics

CTSI Logistics, Luen Thai's logistics partner, implemented a "Zero Plastics Day" to celebrate Earth Day last April 22, 2010.

In their activity, CTSI encouraged all employees to avoid using plastics and styrofoam boxes for the entire day. CTSI's Earth Day activity was part of a long term commitment to their Going Green program. For more information, check www.ctsi-logistics.com/environment

World Environment Day at Luen Thai Philippines

Luen Thai Philippines, on the other hand, celebrated World Environment Day with a "lean" and green approach.

The event, led by Operations Support Services Division (OSSD), gathered employees last June 4 to hold the facility's quarterly clean-up program with a pre-activity involving physical exercises.

“The activity is indeed worthwhile mainly for two things:  we will have Luen Thai’s backyard clean and we will lose some calories. The first is our contribution to the environment while the second, we owe to ourselves,” said  Jocelyn Manansala who spoke on behalf of Evelyn Jose, director for OSSD.

Afterwards, the attendees went to the LTPI Wastewater Treatment facility to learn the basics of how it works.  Washing manager, Rey Sebastian facilitated the quick learning session.
