Two-Day Finance Workshop 2007 Held in ChinaThe annual Luen Thai Finance Workshop was held on July 16-17 at the Dongguan Supply Chain City. Led by Luen Thai Holdings Ltd. chief financial officer (CFO) and executive director Sunny Tan, this year's event was participated in by 70 finance executives and officers from the company's offices, facilities and JVs and affiliates worldwide. CEO Henry Tan opened the first day of the workshop by giving an industry and company update followed by a Q&A. Other topics in the agenda included risk management, tax planning and new China income tax law, project management skills training, merchandising and design workshop, foreign exchange presentation, communication skills and talent management & leadership training. A session on health and wellness and a facility tour were also held. Speakers were Luen Thai EVP Raymond Tan; CFO and executive director Sunny Tan; director of internal audit Framton Tang; financial controller Alex Chan; wellness coach Jigs dela Cruz; Tan Holdings Corporation senior vice president for finance and administration Eli Arago; TMS CFO Joerg Kornblum; Dilys Chan of AON; Jeremy Ngai of PricewaterhouseCoopers; and Debby Poon of Standard Chartered Bank. The yearly Finance Workshop, which started in 2005, aims to bring participants onto the same page about the company's development and direction, reinforce company culture and values, enhance teamwork, continuously upgrade the finance team's skills, and provide a forum to discuss business matters and look for solutions. |
