The 2009 Award Benefit for Scholarships organized by the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT)'s Department of International Trade & Marketing (ITM) has honored Polo Ralph Lauren's senior vice president, Donald Baum, with the prestigious 2009 ITM Global Sourcing Executive of the Year Award. Luen Thai was one of the key sponsors of the event for student scholarships.
Hundreds of people along with FIT, Polo executives and vendors attended the prestigious event held in the Rainbow Room of the Rockefeller Center in New York. Luen Thai USA president Rick Helfenbein; Luen Thai executive vice president and Luen Thai Philippines president Frank Sauceda; and Luen Thai senior vice president for supply chain systems and processes Dr. John Romagna along with other Luen Thai management and staff were present at the ceremony to support and celebrate Mr. Baum's recognition.
Mr. Baum, who is responsible for implementing Polo's integrated supply chain management strategies and developing the company's global manufacturing division, delivered a speech and shared his sourcing experiences.

The 2009 Award Benefit for Scholarships saw a number of students receiving scholarships to FIT's various programs and degrees. David Uricoli, Polo Ralph Lauren's director of global human rights compliance, was the program's master of ceremony.
