Luen Thai's sports and activewear partner company, Yuen Thai Industrial Company Limited (YTI), located in Dongguan, China and its Cebu (Philippines) facility Yuen Thai Philippines (YTPI) have embarked on a commitment to help uplift the lives of orphaned children.
Early this year, YTPI adopted an orphanage in Cebu called Asilo dela Milagrosa, a foster house for children managed by the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul and one of the institutions under the Archdiocese of Cebu.
On May 22, on the occasion of the foster house's 75th anniversary, they donated some goods for the children and infants there. Combining their charitable activities with their green commitment, YTPI also donated an indian tree to Asilo as well as supported a herb and vegetable garden there. The activity was held in time for the World Environment Day last June 5.
Grateful for all the assistance and support, Asilo presented the company with a certificate of appreciation.
Last September 5, Asilo administrator Sister Melly Pinili welcomed the visiting delegation of YTPI headed by president Vicky Dilcock together with general manager Herron and HR manager Rolando Baluran, who were there to donate some more useful items for the children. Much to their delight, the children of Asilo presented a song number for the company visitors.
The day was also marked with a ribbon cutting and official turnover of YTPI's herb and vegetable garden to Asilo.
In Dongguan, the YTI team contributed by producing children's clothes for donation.
To date, Asilo has received continuous support from YTI and YTPI, through various goods donation, one of which consists of a PC donation for the orphanage administration's use.
Extending its care beyond children's needs, YTPI also provided food donations for the victims of Typhoon Ondoy through their project "Operation Big Heart." The goods were transported to Manila through partnership with ABS-CBN television network.
Indeed, through their numerous charitable activities, YTI and YTPI have demonstrated that they are big companies with a big heart.
