Luen Thai executives attended Uniqlo's annual vendor summit in Shanghai last March. In the summit, the executives had the opportunity to meet with Tadashi Yanai, chairman, president and CEO of Fast Retailing Co. Ltd., Uniqlo's holding company.
Attending the summit for Luen Thai were Raymond Tan, Luen Thai International Group president; Tommy Ching, president of Dongguan Tomwell Garment Co. Ltd. and Kelvin Ching, Tomwell vice president. Tomwell is the division of Luen Thai which produces casual wear for Uniqlo.
The summit provided valuable insights to Uniqlo's current and future needs in order for Luen Thai to further align its strategies and support the customers in their goals.
"I always tell everyone that my strategy is not to have a fixed strategy. Instead, I develop one strategy based on the customer's strategy. Therefore, we must understand what Uniqlo needs to build our strategy to meet their needs," noted Mr. Tan.
With Uniqlo's fast growing expansion in Asia and other parts of the world, Mr. Tan reiterated to the Tomwell team to remain competitive and meet Uniqlo's demand through good management and sufficient production capacity.
