Trims & Accessories Spring/Summer '08 Trends

In Spring/Summer 2008, trims and accessories will not only play the role of ornaments but become key details of style and add value to the outfit, according to the latest trend report released by Luen Thai's Design and Development Center.

The key trends range from the organic and natural, which is a result of global warming concerns that continue to sweep the globe; to sporty, which has a key impact across different product categories in menswear and womenswear.

Trims design has never been so creative with the introduction of silicon gel, nature logos, nautical shapes, color-changing features based on temperature; glow in the dark and even decorative compasses.

Color is also a major tool to turn trims and accessories into a key player in the fashion arena. In this season kaleidoscopic or mono tone colors are making a huge impact. Artistic and handcrafted trims and accessories are about combining unusual materials to show the interest of matt and shine, hard and soft surfaces, or to inlay mosaic and beads, and to knit crochet over metal or wood.
