Luen Thai’s Print Entry Wins Prestigious Award

Luen Thai Print Shop’s entry to the Golden Image Awards, the annual print competition of the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association, won Excellence (Gold) in the textile products category on September 29, 2006.

The entry was an image of a Terracotta Warrior from the Chin Dynasty. It featured multi-tones of crackate-puff print effects, a trendy application used for style-driven customers.

After receiving the award, Luen Thai Print Marketing Director Tat Ing said, "This is an establishment and great achievement of our printing capability among world-class contenders.” Luen Thai Corporate Printing Director Ryden Ng added, "The recognition reflects our workmanship in screen printing and our up-to-date technique bring fashion-forward trends to the market."

The Golden Image Awards gathers print professionals together every year and encourages them to display their best works for the competition. This important event is part of the SGIA 2006 Specialty Printing & Imaging Technology Expo held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the US.

Luen Thai's prize also reflected the importance of printing as a highly value-added service to customers. Of late, the Print Shop unveiled a new facility to accommodate additional bulk orders.

Print Shop Opens New Facility

The Luen Thai Print Shop has expanded operations to address increasing requirements for fashionable prints. It formally opened and moved to a new facility on the 3rd floor of Buildings 4&5 in Dongguan Supply Chain City on November 13, 2006.

At present, 58% of the 6,800-square-meter facility is already filled with existing machines and equipment. By early next year, the facility will be equipped with additional machines and manpower count will be increased to 800 from the current 600.

The new facility houses a showroom, widened work areas and individual offices for every print process. Total capacity is placed at over 30,000 pairs of prints daily.

“The Print Shop is ready to face new challenges next year to further increase its market share,” said Corporate Printing Director Ryden Ng. Lately, it has been experimenting with more multiple applications like printing on sweaters using new materials and methods, and on other product categories.
