China Trade Model Presented at Wharton Conference

Luen Thai USA President Rick Helfenbein presented speed-to-market advantages of design-to-store business model to participants of the Wharton Asia Business Conference.

Design-to-store is Luen Thai’s new and creative apparel trade model in China that makes possible the delivery of right products to right retailers fast. It shortens lead-time in delivery as a result of efficient supply chain management from design and development and material sourcing, to production and logistics.

This year’s conference theme “Defining Asia in Transition" set the tone of the discussion about Asia’s increasing economic power with its high-spending middle class and rapid shift from manufacturing to services.

In all, over 350 students, faculty, and distinguished business leaders were present at the Conference, which was held at the Park Hyatt in Philadelphia, USA, on November 10, 2006.

Over the past years, Luen Thai executives have attended Wharton conferences and exchanged ideas on supply chain management. The present scenario and future trends of the apparel industry have always been part of their discussion agenda.
