Unity and vigilance through increased vaccinations was today’s theme as regional and national government officials gathered to witness the launch of Region 3’s first Satellite Vaccination at Luen Thai Clark.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, Deputy Chief Implementer of the National Task Force Against COVID -19 Secretary Vivencio Dizon, Health Secretary Francisco Duque, Governor of Pampanga, Hon. Dennis Pineda, Mabalacat City Mayor Crisostomo Garbo, Clark Development Corporation (CDC) Chairman Atty. Edgardo Pamintuan and CDC President and CEO PBGen. Manuel Gaerlan were in attendance.
Secretary Dizon and President Gaerlan selected Luen Thai as the pilot of the on-site vaccination program for locators in Clark. Luen Thai is also the first company in the region to provide them on-site for their employees. A total of 500 employees were vaccinated in today’s ceremony.
The officials commended Luen Thai for its commitment to serve the country amidst the pandemic. As one of the largest employers of economic frontliners in the country, the launch of this satellite vax site was cited as an important measure in boosting economic recovery and obtaining herd immunity in the nation.
Frank Sauceda, President of Luen Thai Philippines, expressed gratitude to the national government, regional government, and other partner agencies for prioritizing Luen Thai. He stressed the welfare of its employees and their families has always been the company’s top priority and that vaccines are vital to safeguard their people.
“On behalf of the 15,000 people that are part of our company in this country, including 4,000 in Clark and San Fernando, I would like to thank the government of the Philippines for bestowing this great gift to us. The more vaccinations we have in our community, the more open our country can be to new business”, he said.
The activity complements Luen Thai’s Vax2Normal Immunization program, which aims to educate people on the importance of vaccines. Through this program, vaccination confidence has dramatically increased to 90% since the program’s inception in April. The company aims to vaccinate its entire Clark workforce by August.
